San Francisco the Great Sanctuary

The Church of Santa Ana stands at the center of its village square in Antigua Guatemala, marked by a plaque on its facade honoring the reconstruction efforts of nineteen sixty-four. Recognized as the first hermitage in the region, its origins trace back to around fifteen thirty-eight, when the presbyter Juan Godínez established an oratory in the area known as Las Milpas de Santa Ana.
