Sabz Burj, or the Green Tower, stands at a busy traffic intersection as a distinct, octagonal monument. Its most recognizable feature is the bulbous dome and the elongated drum below it, which are clad in vibrant, glazed tiles. Built in the fifteen thirties, this mausoleum is one of the earliest Mughal-era structures in India. It predates the nearby Humayun’s Tomb and marks a moment in history when Timurid architectural styles from Central Asia began to take root in the region.
