Dargah Hazrat Amir Khusro

religious

The tomb of Hazrat Amir Khusro features intricate filigreed marble screens, known as jalis, that enclose the poet’s final resting place within a domed structure. This site sits inside the larger Sufi shrine complex of his mentor, the saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. Khusro, a fourteenth-century polymath and poet often called the father of qawwali, spent his life as a disciple of Nizamuddin, and the two lie buried only a short distance apart.
