Gobindgarh Fort is a massive, square-shaped defensive structure built entirely from brick and lime, covering forty-three acres on the edge of the city. It features four imposing corner bastions and is ringed by a deep defensive moat. Originally constructed in the seventeen-sixties as a mud fortress by the chieftain Gujjar Singh Bhangi, it was known then as Bhangian da Qila.
