Badi Chaupar

Badi Chaupar, also known as Manak Chowk, serves as the grand intersection of the Pink City. You can identify this massive public square by the convergence of four primary avenues that connect historic markets like Johari Bazaar and Tripolia Bazaar. Built in seventeen twenty-seven by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh the Second, the square was part of the original urban grid designed according to traditional Vastu Shastra principles. Its name literally translates to Large Square, distinguishing it from the smaller Choti Chaupar located nearby.
