The Jantar Mantar is defined by its collection of nineteen enormous stone instruments, which rise from the ground in complex, geometric shapes. Built between seventeen twenty-eight and seventeen thirty-four by the astronomer-king Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh the Second, this site was designed to measure time, predict eclipses, and track the movement of stars with the naked eye.
