The General Post Office in Chennai is a striking earth-red structure located on Rajaji Salai, near Parry's Corner. You can identify it by its prominent Indo-Saracenic design, which features a sprawling three-story layout and two tall towers that once supported ornate, Kerala-inspired roof caps until a mid-twentieth-century storm removed them. Completed in eighteen eighty-four, this building was designed by the British architect Robert Chisholm to serve as the primary postal hub for the region.
