Tamon-yagura Turret

The Tamon-yagura Turret is a long, white-walled fortification that stretches across the high stone foundations of Fukuoka Castle. It consists of a two-story corner turret connected to a fifty-four-meter-long single-story wing, creating a structure that once functioned as a vital defensive barrier. Unlike many buildings from the castle's history, this turret remains in its original location, making it a rare survivor among the forty-seven turrets that formerly guarded the site.
