The Penang City Hall is a pristine white structure overlooking the historic parade ground known as the Esplanade. Completed in nineteen oh three, the two-story building features Edwardian Baroque and Palladian architecture, marked by prominent columns and large windows. It was originally built as the Municipal Offices to provide much-needed workspace for the local government, which had outgrown the adjacent Town Hall.
