The Church of the Holy Martyrs in the Guéliz district is recognizable by its blend of Art Deco and Moorish design, standing as the first church built in this part of Marrakech. Constructed in nineteen twenty-eight at the request of Marshal Lyautey, it was designed by the architect and urban planner Henri Prost. The structure honors five Franciscan brothers who were executed in the city on January sixteen, twelve twenty.
