The Place des Sept Saints features seven massive dry-stone towers, each topped with a living olive tree. This monument was inaugurated in two thousand five to commemorate the seven patron saints of Marrakech. These figures, a group of Sufi scholars, jurists, and holy men who lived between the eleventh and sixteenth centuries, are considered the spiritual protectors of the city.
