Jemaa el-Fnaa

Jemaa el-Fnaa is a sprawling, triangular public square that anchors the entrance to the old city of Marrakesh. Since the city's founding in the eleventh century, the square has acted as a persistent center of trade and daily life. It is recognizable by its constant, shifting density: by day, the space is filled with vendors selling fresh orange juice, spices, and traditional goods, while as dusk falls, it transforms into an open-air theater of musicians, storytellers, and performers.
