Mimar Sinan Türbesi

The Mimar Sinan Türbesi is a simple, semi-open mausoleum defined by a dome held up by six limestone and marble columns. Located at the edge of the Süleymaniye Mosque complex, this structure marks the final resting place of Mimar Sinan, the chief Ottoman architect who served under three sultans and designed more than three hundred buildings during his half-century career. He chose to build this modest tomb for himself shortly before his death in fifteen eighty-eight.
