Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese occupies a narrow alley off Fleet Street, characterized by a dark, labyrinthine interior that extends across multiple levels. Although a pub has operated on this site since fifteen thirty-eight, the structure dates to sixteen sixty-seven, rebuilt immediately following the Great Fire of London. Deep, vaulted cellars within the foundation are remains of a thirteenth-century Carmelite monastery that once stood on the ground.
