Islington Town Hall on Upper Street is distinguished by its neoclassical design and a grand façade of Portland stone, featuring an engaged temple front and a prominent coat of arms. Constructed in three stages between nineteen twenty-two and nineteen twenty-nine, the building replaced an older vestry hall to accommodate the growing needs of the borough’s government. It was designed by architect Edward Charles Philip Monson and officially opened on March fifteenth, nineteen thirty.
