Southwark Cathedral

Southwark Cathedral is distinguished by a crossing tower topped with spires and a long, cruciform layout of pointed Gothic arches. Situated near the south bank of the Thames, it has served as a place of worship for over a thousand years, though it only gained cathedral status in nineteen oh five. Its history began as a priory church, later becoming a parish church known as Saint Saviour’s.
