Westminster Millennium Pier

landmark

Westminster Millennium Pier sits on the north bank of the River Thames, immediately beside Westminster Bridge and in the shadow of the Elizabeth Tower, home to the bell known as Big Ben. It is a floating platform designed to move with the changing tides, allowing vessels to dock at a consistent level for passengers. The pier was constructed as part of the Thames two thousand project, a wider effort funded by the Millennium Commission to improve river transport infrastructure for the turn of the twenty-first century.
