Chateau Marmont

The Chateau Marmont rises above Sunset Boulevard as a white, fortress-like structure with gabled roofs and a prominent turret, designed to resemble a French castle in the Loire Valley. Completed in nineteen twenty-nine, it was originally built as a luxury apartment house for wealthy residents, but financial struggles during the Great Depression led to its conversion into a hotel by nineteen thirty-one.
