The Sunset Tower Hotel rises fifteen stories above the Sunset Strip, easily identified by its stepped, Art Deco silhouette and exterior plaster friezes depicting figures that include Adam and Eve, zeppelins, and legendary creatures. Architect Leland A. Bryant designed the reinforced concrete structure in nineteen twenty-nine, and it opened in nineteen thirty-one as a luxury apartment building. At the time, it stood as the tallest building in the area.
