The Comedy Store is a low-slung, stucco building on the Sunset Strip distinguished by the names of legendary comedians painted across its exterior walls. Opened in April nineteen seventy-two by Sammy Shore and Rudy De Luca, the club sits within a space that previously housed Ciro’s, a glamorous supper club that hosted Hollywood’s elite during the nineteen forties and fifties.
