The Harbor Seal Observation Area is a shoreline stretch marked by a chain-link fence along the Monterey Peninsula Recreational Trail. This site sits directly beside the beach of the Hopkins Marine Station. Harbor seals began recolonizing this protected cove in the late nineteen nineties, choosing the sand for resting, molting, and raising their pups.
