Alice Chalmers Playground

Alice Chalmers Playground is recognizable by its large, modular precast concrete blocks that mimic a rugged, rocky coastline. Located in the Outer Mission neighborhood of San Francisco, the park was named after a principal of the neighboring Longfellow Elementary School. For years, the space was ranked among the worst-maintained playgrounds in the city, but it underwent a complete renovation through the Let’s Play SF initiative.
