Tara Street Park

Tara Street in the Ingleside neighborhood holds a specific connection to the city's transit history. While you may find houses along the street today, the path of Tara Street once overlooked the extensive Elkton Shops, a primary facility for maintaining and repairing the city's streetcar fleet. From this vantage point, workers and observers had a clear view south across the Ocean Avenue bus yard toward the intersection of Geneva and San Jose avenues, with San Bruno Mountain rising in the distance.
