Balboa Park

Balboa Park in San Francisco is a twenty-five-acre public space defined by its location between the Interstate Two-Eighty freeway and San Jose Avenue. Originally dedicated in nineteen oh nine, it was named for the Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa. The park sits within the Mission Terrace neighborhood and features a variety of athletic facilities, including tennis courts, baseball diamonds, and a swimming pool.
