Westwood Park

Westwood Park is defined by its series of concentric, oval-shaped streets, a layout designed to offer residents an escape from the grid-like intensity of early twentieth-century San Francisco. Developed by the real estate firm Baldwin and Howell beginning in nineteen sixteen, this neighborhood was intended as a model community for middle-class families. The streets are bisected by Miramar Avenue, which features a central landscaped median planted with trees, creating a distinct, park-like atmosphere in the center of the city.
