Edgehill Mountain

Edgehill Mountain is a seven-hundred-thirty-four-foot peak defined by its exposed layers of Franciscan chert, a red bedrock formed from prehistoric marine life that folded into steep, precarious slopes. Once part of Adolph Sutro’s San Miguel Ranch, the hill evolved from a quarry site into a residential subdivision that became known for its geological instability.
