Hawk Hill

Hawk Hill is a steep, sandy ridge that rises above the Forest Hill neighborhood, characterized by its shifting dunes and sparse, scrubby vegetation. It is a natural remnant of the ancient sand dunes that once covered much of the San Francisco peninsula before the area was developed with concrete and asphalt in the twentieth century.
