Sutro Tower

Sutro Tower is a three-legged lattice structure that rises nine hundred seventy-seven feet above its base on the hill between Mount Sutro and Twin Peaks. Painted in a distinctive red and white scheme, the tower rests on foundations embedded in fifteen million pounds of cement, with its primary structure composed of three point five million pounds of steel. It dominates the skyline, often shrouded by the city's thick fog layer.
