San Francisco Botanical Garden

The San Francisco Botanical Garden is a fifty-five-acre collection of plants set within Golden Gate Park, marked by its dense, world-spanning variety of flora that thrives in the city's unique oceanic climate. While the original plans for a garden here date back to the eighteen-eighties under park supervisor John McLaren, the project remained dormant for decades until a major bequest from Helene Strybing in nineteen twenty-seven finally provided the funding to break ground.
