Holy Virgin Cathedral

The Holy Virgin Cathedral is distinguished by its five golden onion domes, which shine above the surrounding Richmond District skyline. This cathedral serves as the spiritual center for the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia on the American West Coast. Its foundation was driven by waves of immigrants who arrived in San Francisco after fleeing the Soviet Union and China during the mid-twentieth century.
