Saint Ignatius Church (San Francisco)

Saint Ignatius Church dominates the hilltop campus of the University of San Francisco with its massive copper-clad dome and soaring twin spires. Designed by architect Charles Devlin and dedicated in nineteen fourteen, the building is the fifth iteration of this parish. Its predecessors were destroyed by the nineteen oh six earthquake and fire, which forced the Jesuit community to move from their original site on Market Street to this prominent bluff.
