Hippie Hill

Hippie Hill is a gently sloping, grass-covered rise in Golden Gate Park, positioned east of the tennis courts near Kezar Drive. It is bordered by eucalyptus and oak trees and overlooks the area now known as Robin Williams Meadow. During the summer of nineteen sixty-seven, the hill emerged as an informal gathering spot for thousands of people drawn to the nearby Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, which had become the epicenter of the counterculture movement.
