Jerry Garcia's first home

The house at eighty-seven Harrington Street is a modest, single-family home that served as the boyhood residence of Jerry Garcia. After his father passed away, a young Garcia moved into this yellow-painted building to live with his grandparents and his brother, Tiff. He attended the nearby Monroe Elementary School and spent his youth exploring the surrounding Excelsior District, an area he later detailed in his posthumously published memoir, titled Harrington Street.
