Brooks Park

Brooks Park occupies a southwestern hilltop in San Francisco, marked by a gated entrance and a wooded, uneven landscape that offers wide views toward the Pacific Ocean. Once part of the vast Rancho San Miguel, this ground transitioned into a private residence in nineteen thirty-six when Helen and Jesse Brooks built a home here among windswept grasses. Mrs. Brooks became a fixture of the area, known for tending beehives and experimenting with native plant gardening long before the practice became common.
