Statue "Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole"

The seven-foot-tall bronze statue of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole stands on a five-foot-diameter marble base near the beach that bears his name. Sculpted by artist Sean Browne and dedicated in two thousand one, the figure depicts the prince, who was a member of the Hawaiian Kalākaua dynasty. He is widely remembered as Ke Aliʻi Makaʻāinana, or the Prince of the People, for his dedication to the welfare of Native Hawaiians.
