The three-story mansion at twenty-five twenty-three Prytania Street is defined by its tall, shuttered windows and an elaborate cast-iron gallery that wraps around its exterior. Designed by architect Henry Howard in eighteen fifty-seven for the coffee importer Henry T. Daily Lonsdale, this Greek-Italianate Revival residence was once known as the skyscraper because it stood as the tallest structure in the Garden District.
