Colonel Short’s Villa is an Italianate-style mansion at the corner of Fourth and Prytania Streets. Built in eighteen fifty-nine for Kentucky commission merchant Robert Short, the house is recognized by a distinctive cast-iron fence that features a repeating pattern of cornstalks entwined with morning glories.
