The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, is marked by a massive granite facade and a prominent rotunda facing Huntington Avenue. Founded in eighteen seventy, the institution originally opened its doors in Copley Square on the nation's centennial, July fourth, eighteen seventy-six. By the early twentieth century, the museum’s growing collection necessitated a move to this current site in the Fenway, which opened in nineteen oh nine.
