The bronze statue of William Lloyd Garrison is a seated figure set upon a granite pedestal on the Commonwealth Avenue Mall. It portrays the journalist and abolitionist who founded the newspaper The Liberator. Sculptor Olin Levi Warner designed the monument in eighteen eighty-five, and the city installed it on May thirteen, eighteen eighty-six.
