Park of Portugal

Parc du Portugal is distinguished by its use of colorful azulejo ceramic tiles, which decorate its gates, gazebo, and central fountain. Situated on Saint Laurent Boulevard between Marie-Anne Street and Vallières Street, this public space was designed by landscape architect Carlos R. Martinez. It was created in nineteen fifty-three to honor the Portuguese immigrants who settled in the Le Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood, and it was officially renamed in nineteen seventy-five to recognize their growing influence in the city.
