Musée du Montréal juif - Museum of Jewish Montreal

The Museum of Jewish Montreal began in twenty-ten as a digital map created by Zev Moses, a city planner who noticed that dozens of former synagogues in the city had been converted into homes, churches, or community centers without any public record of their history. He wanted to pin these sites to a digital atlas to preserve the stories of Canada’s oldest Jewish community. While the project grew from a web-based archive into a physical presence on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, it has frequently moved and adapted its operations to keep pace with the city's changing neighborhoods.
