The McCall MacBain Arts Building is defined by a central neoclassical pavilion topped with a prominent dome and clock tower. As the oldest structure on the McGill University campus, its construction began in eighteen thirty-nine and concluded with its first phase in eighteen forty-three. The building was designed by architect John Ostell, featuring a limestone facade and a distinctive front portico held up by Tuscan columns.
