Schwartz's Deli

Schwartz's Deli is marked by the long line of people typically waiting on the sidewalk of Saint-Laurent Boulevard, regardless of the weather. Established in nineteen twenty-eight by Reuben Schwartz, a Romanian immigrant, this Jewish delicatessen has remained in its original location for nearly a century. Beneath its current sign, you can still see the name Montreal Hebrew Delicatessen, a reminder of the shop's long history as a fixture on what locals call The Main.
