Théâtre St-Denis

The Théâtre St-Denis is identified by an elegant, traditional portico set back from Saint-Denis Street, a design intended to blend the massive performance venue into the rhythm of the surrounding neighborhood shops. Built in nineteen fifteen by the architectural firm Anglin-Norcross, the building opened its doors on March fourth, nineteen sixteen. It was designed as a modern hub for the French-speaking intelligentsia in the Latin Quarter, featuring a sloped floor and a capacity for three thousand spectators.
