The Port of Montreal Tower is a sixty-five-meter glass-and-steel structure that rises from the tip of the Grand Quai, formerly known as Alexandra Pier. It is distinguished by a cantilevered observatory near the top and a prominent wooden helicoidal staircase, which is visible through its transparent façade. The tower serves as a visual beacon, signaling the entrance to the port much like a traditional lighthouse.
