The Bonsecours Market is a monumental masonry building defined by its tall, silvery central dome that rises above the surrounding streets. Designed by architect William Footner and completed in eighteen forty-seven, the structure stretches across an entire city block and features a long facade with classical Doric columns. Its design reflects the influence of the Custom House in Dublin.
