Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal

The Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal is defined by its two massive stone towers that rise high above the intersection of Notre-Dame Street West and Saint-Sulpice Street. This imposing structure was constructed between eighteen twenty-four and eighteen twenty-nine to serve as a new parish church for a growing congregation. It was the first major Gothic Revival building in Canada, setting a standard for the style across the country.
