Cerro Nutibara rises eighty meters above the Aburrá Valley as a prominent, rocky hill in the heart of Medellín. You can identify this green island by the dense foliage that contrasts with the surrounding urban landscape and the distinctive, traditional architecture gathered at its highest point. Once known as the Morro de Marcela de la Parra and later the Morro de los Cadavides, the city purchased the land in nineteen twenty-seven and renamed it for a sixteenth-century indigenous leader.
