Plaza de La Libertad de Medellín

The Plaza de la Libertad in Medellín is marked by towers featuring prominent vertical solar panels across their yellow-tinted facades. Completed in two thousand eleven, this complex functions as the Civic Center of Antioquia, housing decentralized government offices, the city council, and the headquarters for the public television channel Teleantioquia. The design resulted from an international competition won by architects from the firms Opus and Toro Posada, who sought to blend modern office requirements with traditional regional architectural elements like bridges, courtyards, and terraces.
