Plaza Botero is defined by twenty-three large bronze sculptures by the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, which stand in the open air against the backdrop of the Museo de Antioquia and the Rafael Uribe Uribe Palace of Culture. These sculptures, known for their exaggerated, rotund forms, were a donation from the artist to his home city to anchor an urban renewal project that reshaped this central area of Medellín.
